Annual monitoring reports

The Annual Monitoring Report for South East England measures the impact of the policies of the South East Plan and objectives of the Regional Sustainability Framework. It was previously known as the Regional Monitoring Report.

Annual Monitoring Report 2009

The Annual Monitoring Report 2009 - based on data from the 2008-09 financial year - was submitted to the Government on 26 February 2010. Its key findings are as follows:

  • Economic development: GVA growth at 0.3% in 2008
  • Housing: 32,300 housing completions in 2008-09
  • Transport: A slower rate of growth in the volume of road traffic
  • Natural resources: Properties at risk of flooding increased by 10,400.

This is the eight monitoring report the South East has produced and will be the last to monitor the South East Plan independently of the Regional Economic Strategy. From 2011, the region's annual monitoring report will cover both documents.

The AMR 2009 is divided into two sections: a statistical Data Report and an analytical Policy Report. Introducing both is an Executive Summary.

Regional Monitoring Report 2008

This is the seventh annual regional monitoring report (RMR). It was submitted to Government on 31 March 2009.

For the first time, the RMR monitors the proposed changes to the South East Plan (the Plan) and no longer relates to Regional Planning Guidance 9. The RMR also provides data necessary to monitor the Regional Sustainability Framework (RSF). Also for the first time, the data and policy elements have been produced as separate documents.
